Patch 0.2.0 — server authority and raid stability

Patch 0.2.0 is the unglamorous part of an extraction shooter: server authority. Movement first — a client that lies about its speed gets overruled, not trusted. More systems move behind the server from here.

New

  • Stamina. A stamina system is in, with fireplace bonuses tied to bunker progression.
  • AI scavengers are in design. Two kinds: passive looters and aggressive patrols. The PvPvE layer starts here.
  • A pass on per-frame allocations — less garbage-collector work mid-raid.

Changes

  • Speed-hack protection now runs server-side — the client no longer reports its own movement unchallenged.
  • Mouse look now accumulates per frame — aim feels the same under network play.
  • Bunker greybox v2: a corridor-spine layout with four visual upgrade tiers. Still grey, on purpose.
  • Station interaction prompts are cached — no allocation cost for walking past your own workbench.

Fixes

  • View-model animations breaking in raids.
  • A frame spike from network collision-mesh detection in raycasts.
  • The extraction countdown sometimes failing to start.
  • Memory leaks from event handlers in weapon and menu code.
  • A hygiene pass: dead files and stale duplicates removed.

Known issues

  • The bunker layout is ahead of its art. The rebuild lands when the assets do.
  • Audio is placeholder. The system behind “your headset is your radar” has not shipped yet.

New here? Blood of Rations is a hardcore WW2 extraction shooter — solo PvPvE raids in 1944 occupied Europe, Early Access on Steam 5 November 2026. If this is your kind of game, wishlist it on Steam. It is still the number that matters.
